How are my funds secured on the platform?

Stabull is a non-custodial platform. As opposed to a traditional centralized exchange where a user deposits their funds into an exchange and leaves it in the exchange’s custody, DEX’s operate without taking custody of user funds. Users trade directly from their wallets without needing to deposit funds into the exchange.

This is enabled by the powerful decentralized computing power of Web3 platforms like Ethereum. DEX’s are like exchanges without the employees. They function using smart contracts that set the rules for interaction and facilitate value transfers. Users trade peer-to-peer with each other.

Given these operations users must manage their private keys carefully. cryptographic keys that grant you access to your wallet and authorize transactions. As long as you keep your private keys secure and do not share them with anyone else, your funds remain safe from unauthorized access.

Private keys are alphanumeric strings that contain letters and numbers. It is recommended that users primarily store their keys offline on devices like hardware wallets or if you prefer analog over digital, a paper wallet. If keys are stored online or in the cloud they may be compromisable. If keys are stored offline even if attackers gain access to a user’s network or device, the funds remain safe.

Beyond this users need to be online when interacting with platforms like Stabull. They need to ensure they set up barriers from attackers. These can include anti-viruses and extensions that check if a user is interacting with a fake website imitating Stabull.
