How to Guide – connecting MetaMask

This guide outlines how you can connect your MetaMask wallet to the Stabull DEX to allow you to swap stablecoins or provide liquidity to the various liquidity pools. Already have metamask? Skip to the next section. Want to find out how to disconnect? Click here.

Note: Connecting and disconnecting from the Stabull DEX does not incur gas fees.

Installing MetaMask

If you don’t have Metamask, you need to download it first. It is available as a browser extension from the Chrome Web Store (for Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge and Opera), as an iOS App or an Android App on your smartphone. Already have metamask? Skip to the

Once installed, you firstly need to accept the Terms of Use, and create a new wallet

You then can choose whether or not to share diagnostic data with the developers.

Next you will be asked to set a password to unlock your wallet after a certain amount of time. Please note there is no way to recover this, so ideally you will need to pick something secure and memorable, or utilise a suitable password manger. Enter and confirm this password, and then click Create a new wallet.

Next, you will be prompted to secure your wallet. This involves getting a list of words that will allow you to restore you wallet (and associated addresses and crypto/tokens) in the future, as well as to access your wallet across multiple devices. The holders of these words can control your funds, so secure them properly. There are multiple options, such as metal backup key products, writing it down, printing it out and storing it safely before deleting the file you printed, among others. Whichever option you choose, we recommend that you make sure this is encrypted (ie don’t save it as a plain text file) as anyone who gains access to it will be able to move your cryptocurrency out of your control.

Next you will need to reveal the code

Once you reveal your code, which consists of twelve (12) words, you need to store this securely. The order is also important, so make sure it is numbered. Note that generally to restore a wallet you will only need to provide the first four letters of a word, such as if you are using a metal backup key product.

When you click next, you will then be prompted to fill in the missing words in the correct order to confirm you have the details. Click confirm

Once you have done this, your wallet is both created and secured by a recovery phrase.

You will then select your blockchain of choice and fund it with the corresponding cryptocurrency in order to pay gas fees related to your transactions.
