How To Guide – adding liquidity to a pool

This article outlines how you can provide liquidity to the Stabull DEX and receive Liquidity Provider (LP) tokens which will grant you a share of fees generated from the liquidity you provide.

In order to provide liquidity to one of the pools, you need the following:

  1. A crypto wallet (ie MetaMask)
  2. Cryptocurrency for your chosen blockchain to cover gas fees
  3. A first stablecoin (such as USDC)
  4. A second stablecoin (such as NZDS)

Once you have these, you can provide liquidity as follows.

Firstly, visit the pools page on the DEX. Select your blockchain from the drop-down menu at the top of the page and connect your wallet.

Click into the pool of your choice and click + Add Liquidity.

Enter the amount of your first stablecoin you would like to provide.

Enter the amount of your second stablecoin you would like to provide.

You will then be displayed the prices and pool share, including the amount of LP Tokens you will receive, the corresponding pair price for each of the stablecoins, and your share of the pool. In order to keep the pools balanced, we recommend that you add your second stablecoin first, and the corresponding first stablecoin.

Before you add liquidity, you will need to approve the spending cap for each of your stablecoins. Click Approve to the first stablecoin, which will open MetaMask.

Set your spending cap and click next, optionally adjust your gas fee, and click approve.

Wait for the transaction to be broadcast and submitted, then click close.

Repeat this process for the second stablecoin.

Once both spending caps are in place, you can then proceed to click Add Liquidity.

This will open MetaMask, where you will see the transaction showing the Stablecoins you will be sending to the pool, and the corresponding LP tokens you will receive in return. Click confirm.

Wait for the transaction to be broadcast and confirmed, after which you will have your LP tokens. You can add these as custom tokens to your wallet (outlined in this section of our knowledgebase).

You can then check the My Liquidity section of the Pools page to see information on your tokens and share.

LP tokens are transferrable, and the holder will be able to redeem them at any time, with corresponding pool rewards by removing liquidity.
